THE BASICS
Do you have time to submit an application?
There are several significant deadlines you should know about if you are considering applying for a Boren Scholarship. You will need to develop a plan for your program, and prepare and submit an application in a timely manner.
Here are some relevant milestones. More details are available here.
August–Early December
Contact your campus representative to discuss your interest in the program. Remember you can usually find that person through the campus study abroad office. If that doesn't work, contact us immediately.
Prepare essays, gather transcripts and recommendations, and develop your application.
December–january
Most institutions set an on-campus deadline between mid-December and late January. You should contact your campus representative immediately to find out the campus deadline at your institution. The campus deadline is likely to be earlier than the national deadline in order to allow time for the on-campus review of Boren applications.
The deadline for the 2007-2008 academic year, which was February 13, 2007, has passed. Please check back here for the deadlines for 2008-2009.Ready to learn more? Click on Shape your plan in the left-hand navigation!
