Overview
Boren Fellowships provide support for overseas or domestic study, or a combination of both. Your application for a Boren Fellowship will be more competitive if it includes a significant overseas component.
Most plans include a combination of coursework and independent research. You'll be required to establish a relationship with an overseas institution and provide evidence of that affiliation in your application.
Your field of study, as well as the language and country you focus on, must have a clear connection with national security.
The plan you develop must include language study in a modern language other than English.
