AFTER YOUR RETURN
NSEPNET
We have developed an interactive website – NSEPNET (www.nsepnet.org) – to help Fellows simplify and organize their job search efforts. NSEPNET maintains an online collection of federal job search tips, job notices, and résumés posted by recipients of Boren awards. These résumés are made available to hiring officials in all federal departments and agencies where relevant employment opportunities exist.
NSEPNET will help you fulfill the obligations of your service requirement and enhance your opportunity to find federal employment. This is also where you'll find the service agreement report that returning Fellows are required to file annually until their obligations are met.
When you receive an award, you will be given access to NSEPNET. In order to satisfy the service requirement, you must initially (at the time of award) log into the system, identify yourself, and verify basic data. Then, at least twelve months before you expect to receive your degree, you must once again log into NSEPNET to complete and activate a résumé.
NSEP is working throughout the federal sector to familiarize potential employers with the program, the qualifications of its award recipients, and the opportunities afforded them through NSEPNET. Federal human resource managers, once registered on the system, can structure searches of the NSEPNET database for specific types of expertise. They can identify the individuals they wish to consider and contact them directly.
